Prevoo in Action: The New Baby

By on October 5, 2015

When you build an app, you have ideas about the way people will use it. These are the expected “use cases”, to use the industry lingo.

But then, with your app on the brain every waking moment (sometimes non-waking), you begin to discover new, unexpected uses for it.

This was the situation a few months back when Prevoo’s founder, Taymoor, became a grandfather! Suddenly, his son and daughter-in-law were responsible for a tiny human with no set sleep schedule. For the first time, Taymoor found himself wondering whether it was a good time to call or text his son. What if he calls at the exact moment his son is rocking his grandson to sleep? What if he calls while his son and daughter-in-law are trying to nab a few minutes of shuteye?

As the cliché goes, now there’s an app for that.

Taymoor realized that Prevoo would solve his problem about the right time to communicate with his son’s family. If he sees that his son and daughter-in-law are around, he knows it’s a good time to try reaching them. But if they’re away, there’s a chance they’re tending to the baby. And if they’re away for a longer time, it could mean they’re catching up on some precious sleep.

Rather than chance disturbing or waking the new little family, Taymoor can use Prevoo to find the right moment to connect.

Sadly, Prevoo won’t change dirty diapers or rock a crying baby to sleep—but if it makes life a tiny bit easier for new parents, that’s a win in our books.
